Architect-designed house with contemporary decor in Orgeval, Yvelines (78)

Contemporary design and decoration for a 400 m² architect-designed house

The objectives

When we designed the interior architecture and contemporary décor of this architect-designed house in the Yvelines, we focused on spaces that open out onto the surrounding countryside to maximise the light.

Our solutions

We chose natural, noble materials in neutral, timeless tones, with raw-look solid oak parquet flooring, wenge and leather furniture by Italian designers, and large linen curtains. The dimensions of the living room were adjusted to accommodate a Japanese-inspired fireplace with a 6m-high flue.

In the TV lounge, we designed a bespoke piece of furniture in wenge and matt lacquer that frames the screen perfectly.

The Bulthaup kitchen is open plan with a large central island, and the emphasis is on light wood, stainless steel and Corian worktops.

The bathroom in the 20 m² master suite has been designed as a ‘living room’, with a large shower area, a whirlpool bath and a double washbasin unit with a white Corian top.

The stylistic note

A warm, minimalist decor and atmosphere combining Scandinavian and Asian influences.
