Renovation Haussmannian apartment Paris 16 Ranelagh

Renovation of a Haussmannian apartment 300m2

When we discovered this apartment for the first time with the new owner, it had been in its juice for 30 years: all the floors were covered with carpets, the walls were wallpapered, the paintings were old and the bathrooms were outdated. On the other hand the volumes and the double exposure of the apartment are promising.

After having exchanged a lot of information and having understood the lifestyle and tastes of the family, we had carte blanche for the renovation and decoration of their new apartment.

From the entrance, the theme is given with custom-made, sober and elegant black wood fittings, designed by our agency, to store shoes. An elegant Knoll leather bench underlines the stained glass windows.

In the bright double living room with its three French windows, the original moldings are highlighted by the white paint found throughout the apartment. The original Hungarian parquet floor, which was hidden under the carpet, has been totally renovated and magnified.

In the dining room, we created a walnut and matte lacquer wall design that structures the room and frames the large Scandinavian table and chairs by designer Arne Jacobsen.

On the living room side, the large corner sofa in light fabric with its black metal coffee table, create a welcoming and friendly space facing the fireplace and its Louis XV trumeau found by the owners.

Particular attention has been paid to the contemporary lighting fixtures that underline the elegant sobriety of the Italian and Scandinavian design furniture.

On the night side, we chose to reorganize the circulation towards the two children's bedrooms and their bathroom by creating a direct and private access from the entrance. At the same time, a custom checkroom was designed in the new hallway. A discreet and efficient way to store outerwear without crowding the entrance.

In each child's room we designed a large dressing room, a bookcase with open and closed storage, a desk and a dressing table. All made to measure by our carpenters in walnut finish and matte lacquer.

The children's bathroom was completely restructured without changing its dimensions. We chose soft and luminous materials with brushed gold faucets and sand-colored porcelain stoneware. We kept the 70's style mirror of the previous owner which fits perfectly in the new decoration.

The parents' bedroom is the room that underwent the most extensive restructuring. We removed the partition that separated the old bedroom and a hallway that led to the bathroom to create a large master suite with a custom dressing room on the back of the bed. The master bathroom was renovated in the same grey and black ambiance with a whirlpool bathtub, a walk-in shower and a double sink cabinet.

The custom-made fittings we designed allowed us to hide the air-conditioning with which we equipped the rooms.

The Boffi kitchen in the same tones as the rest of the apartment is bright and functional with a beautiful chocolate granite worktop!
